Sixers encourage city of Philadelphia to ‘ShowYaLuv’ for team during week's worth of playoff events - 4/17/2011

Philadelphia, Pa. – April 17, 2011 - The Philadelphia 76ers want fans in the Greater Philadelphia Region to “ShowYaLuv” for the Sixers during their week-long series of events in anticipation of their first home game in Round 1 of the 2011 NBA Playoffs.

Monday, April 18 – Various Times

Dapper (Hot) Dog Cart Goes Mobile – Temple University (13th & Norris Sts.) – Noon to 1:00 p.m.
The Dapper Dog Cart, featuring unique hot dogs available at all Sixers and Flyers playoff games at the Wells Fargo Center, will make a special lunchtime trip to Temple University’s campus. Comcast-Spectacor will distribute free cheer cards and T-shirts during the visit, on behalf of both the Sixers and Flyers.

Sixers vs. Miami Heat Game 2 Watch Party – Fox & Hound, 1501 Spruce Street – 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Join Sixers mascot Hip-Hop, Sixers Dancers and Hare Raisers as they watch the Sixers take on the Miami Heat in the second game of their first-round playoff series. Fans can play games for Sixers prizes and enjoy Budweiser specials throughout the night. Attendees’ parking will be validated.

Tuesday, April 19 – 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

T-Shirt Tour and Pep Rally – Starting at the Wells Fargo Center (3601 S. Broad St.) and ending at the Comcast Center (1500 Market St.)
Sixers mascot Hip-Hop, the Sixers Dancers and Hare Raisers will throw Sixers “Show Ya Luv” Playoff T-shirts to fans from the top of a double-decker bus as they cruise down Broad Street. The tour ends at the Comcast Center, where a joint Sixers and Flyers pep rally will take place with appearances by Philadelphia Mayor Michael A. Nutter, Ambassador of 76ers Basketball World B. Free and Drummers with Attitude, a drumline group. Games, inflatable rides and plenty of giveaways will also be onsite at the pep rally for fans to enjoy.

Wednesday, April 20 – Various Times

Photo Opportunity: NBA Playoffs Decal Placed on Wells Fargo Center Court – 3601 S. Broad St., Philadelphia, Pa. 19148 – 9:30 a.m.
The Wells Fargo Center’s operations crew will place the NBA Playoffs decal onto the court in preparation the Sixers’ home games.

McDonald’s Takeover – 1601 Columbus Blvd., Philadelphia, Pa. – 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

Sixers mascot Hip-Hop will take over the Columbus Boulevard McDonald’s, helping serve food, ring up orders and greet guests. This location will serve $.76 small coffees or iced teas all day, and its staff will swap out their normal uniform for Sixers T-shirts and hats.

Thursday, April 21 – Various Times

McDonald’s Begins Five-Day, Free Iced Coffee Offer – Thursday through Sunday, April 24 (all day)
To help the Sixers beat the Miami Heat, McDonald’s locations throughout the Greater Philadelphia Region will offer a free medium iced coffee with any purchase through Sunday, April 24.

Round 1, Home Game 1 – Philadelphia 76ers vs. Miami Heat – Wells Fargo Center – 8:00 p.m.

The Philadelphia 76ers host the Miami Heat for their first home game of the postseason. All fans in attendance will receive a free T-shirt, courtesy of Toyota, Cure Auto, Lukoil, Wells Fargo and Liscio’s Bakery. The game will feature pyrotechnics and a brand-new open video with live performance elements.
